UNITE
Funded by the Army Educational Outreach Program (AEOP) and administered by the Technology Student Association (TSA), Unite is designed to encourage and help prepare students to pursue college-level studies, and ultimately, STEM Careers in fields such as engineering. The UCCS Unite program is part of the Pre-Collegiate Development Program’s (PCDP) Summer Academic Institute (SAI). Unite funds support the engineering career pathway for rising 10th, 11th and 12th grade Pre-Collegiate students.

High School students that have been accepted into the UCCS Pre-Collegiate Program can choose the engineering career pathway that is funded by Unite.
The Summer Academic Institute (SAI) is scheduled to start June 6 - July 1, 2022.
Rising 10th grade students spend the month of June on campus participating in engineering related hands-on workshops in the areas of robotics, drones, 3D design and printing, programming, electronics, etc. They also take 40 hours of hands-on math preparation for the SAT and higher level mathematics classes at their high schools. They will experience field trips off campus that relate to careers in the following disciplines: Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, Innovation and other related majors.
Rising 11th grade students will have the opportunity to take a concurrent enrollment college course taught by a UCCS professor/instructor. They will also participate in preparation workshops in the areas of communication, note taking, and group dynamics.
Rising 12th grade students have the opportunity to enroll in a concurrent enrollment course and they will also participate in scholarship writing, college application process, FASFA and other preparatory workshops.
